Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. Hope you are good?
Well today’s post is on human right.
Overtime, I have wondered what my rights were? Can I really say I have enjoyed and benefited from these rights that I am supposed to be entitled to?
Well the answer to the questions I asked myself was that I have to first know these rights and then check my life if I have experience or benefited from it. I can say that I have been lucky to enjoy some of my entitled right. Some rights that I should benefit from have been hindered by some social, economically, cultural and political structures.
Today, I throw it to you to know your rights and try to evaluate where you stand. As you know your right, please know it applies to all human being.
Thus, this post attempts to answer questions like:
What is human right?
When was a declaration on human right made?
What are the lists of human right based on the article/preamble?
How many human rights do we have as a human?
A human right is an entitlement that a person enjoys simply by virtue of being a human being and there is no doubt that while human rights are claimed to be universal, the widespread use of the concept is relatively a recent phenomenon. This is because human right became a significant consideration only with the formulation and signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights passed by the United Nations General Assembly on the 5th of December 1948.
The Declaration of Human rights consisted of a preamble and 30 Articles. Today’s post will use the Article to show a list of the human rights entitled by a human.

- Human being should be treated equally irrespective of personal characteristics or citizenship

Article 28
- Freedom to social and international order: “everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedom set forth.
- Right to peaceful protest.
Article 29
- Right to duties to his or her community
Article 30
This article denotes that nothing in the declaration should imply that any state, group or person can engage in actions destructive to any of the rights and freedoms set out in it. Thus, the UN Human Right Charters is summed up or grouped into:
- Rights that essentially amount to be left alone
- Right to participate in the political structure of the country and to enjoy the protection of its law
- Rights to associate with people of one’s own choosing and also relates to social rights such as employment protections
It is important that this right is and can be limited as there are certain duties that individuals have to perform this is evident in article 29 and 30.
This is my summary with the help of several literatures of the rights we are entitled as humans. I hope this post have been educative and you have learnt something new.

Yes, hopefully knowing what is written about our rights on paper can help direct our paths and probably give us some confidence.
