A series of acts were introduced under the Financial POLICY BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT SUCH AS NAVIGATION ACT, SUGAR ACT OR REVENUE ACT. This acts were part of the events leading to American Revolution.
There were a lot of Acts created by the British in this post, Navigation and Sugar Act shall be looked at.
NAVIGATION ACT
In an effort to raise revenues, (Britain) parliament enforced the Navigation Acts which listed specific commodities that could be shipped only with English empire. However, Britain attempt to make the colonists abide by the shipping regulations generated little revenue due to an increase in smuggling. The then Prime Minister George Greenville took different took different route to force to colonies to pay what he believed was their fair share for the services of the British army stationed in American in 1764 ,Greenville pressed parliament to pass the sugar act also known as REVENUE ACTS. this became a source of resentment towards the British
