Documentations in History and Linguistic sources and evidence etc. have shown that all around the world from continents to countries, Nations, states and small societies, there is the presence of different ethnic and racial groups. This is ranging from the blacks to Africans, Whites to mention a few.
The concept of ethnic and Racial group is a very complicated one and thus it is important to note that all around the world, countries and state it is present. Just that some are the majorities groups and some are the minorities groups.
At the continental and the world level, there are several groups present eg. for Arabs, there are Israeli Arabs, Turkish Arabs etc. For Africans there are evidence of different ethnic group in South Africans, West Africans, Central Africans. there is also African Americans, Afro Latin, Afro Brazilians, Afro Dutch. Other evidences includes Iranian Azerbaijanis,Georgian Azerbaijanis. for Europeans Indo Europeans, English Europeans etc. For Asians there are several ethnic and racial groups also. or more information there are links below.
Today post is focused on the country level, there are different ethnic and racial group. For example in Nigeria, there is over 200 ethnic group with the majority been the Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa, in Rwanda, there is the Hutu and Tutsi. For the United Kingdom Some group documented by different writers and scholar English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish etc. America is known ad the land of different and ethnic and racial groups.
The reason why this post is focusing on this is because of the politicization, negativity and misunderstanding attached to ethnic and racial groups.
To tackle the above(negativity, politicization and misunderstanding) today post implore we as individuals to
- Avoid making derogatory statements directly or indirectly to or of any racial and ethnic group
- Try and not to accept the politicization of ethnic and racial group
- have the mentality that it is not bad or wrong to be in a racial and ethnic group
- Accept everyone irrespective of ethnic and racial group etc
and instead harness the power attached to different ethnic and racial group.
If the above and more is done, the power of ethnic and racial would pave way for more positive achievement that promotes development than the negative which is seen in wars, politics etc. which have promoted hatred, anger etc.
