AN OVERVIEW OF MEXICO’S EDUCATIONAL AND HEALTH CARE FACILITIES.

Mexico has a long history of western education tracing it the founding of the Royal and Pontifical University of Mexico on 1551 and National University of Macros. In the 21st century, Mexican economy has come under much criticism this is because while over 90% of children in Mexico attend primary school, only 62% attend secondary school and only 45% finished high school and also a reduction for the university.[1]  A reason for this is the lack of infrastructure throughout the rural schools. Attempts have been made by the government to change this by enacting new reforms and paying teachers more. These have affected Mexican ambition to become a top world economy. This has shown that it is not consumed qualitatively.

Mexico has made great strides in healthcare as she offers excellent private health care facilities and Private clinics and hospitals feature the latest modern facilities and are built to US-standards as Mexican Doctors received part of their training in the U.S. for a long time Public care is either fully or partially subsidized by the federal government, depending upon the citizens employment status, but this has changed as all Mexican citizens are eligible for subsidized healthcare regardless of their work status via a system of health care facilities operating under the federal Secretariat of Health . Despite Federal government involvement the only challenge is that it operates entirely on the free-market system, i.e., it is available to those who can afford it.[2]Also, Drug Cartels have been known to build health clinic and centers this is turn have affected development because there have been training on how to maintain population growth by promoting the idea of  family planning and given birth to only two children.

Additionally in other to spread the health care facilities around the country, there have been creation of  smaller hospitals and clinics thus hospitals have spread over a territory of 761,600 sq miles (1.973 million km²), but  over 50% of public hospitals have less than 50 beds despite the above, Summative health statistics for Mexico have upgraded significantly since the 1970s. However, Mexico lags well behind other Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development countries in health status and health care availability.[3]
